Harvest update March 2016

Halor March 2016!  Let's see what do i have from the garden recently...

How many type of plants can you see in the picture? There are 7 type at least! - kucing galak, sambung nyawa dwiwarna, bangun-bangun, kesum, jasmin, cili padi & taiwan goji berry palnts

(1) Green leaves harvest: kangkung, brazillian spianch & ginseng jawa  (2) As usual, peria katak, chili padi & the  cute new comer "timun tikus" that grow by itself

We have fat papayas, peria katak, blue pea flowers, mulberrym chili padi & spring onion =)

ALmost the same harvest as previous picture, except the poor red long bean

Hope you don get bored...almost the same harvest to show

Colorful & healthy coleslaw

 Harvest from the mini garden of mine…maybe last month cannot remember the exact date. I have ginseng jawa leaves, papayas, mulberry, white and blue multilayer blue pea flowers. 

Using the mulberry and multilayer blue pea flowers from the garden, let’s make a healthy, nutritious and colorful coleslaw salad! 

The ingredients needed are super simple, we need finely-shreddeds raw cabbage and carrot, mulberries, blue pea flowers & a small pack of mayonnaise!

 Just mix all the ingredients…there you go!

I serve it with roasted chicken, french bread & ya, I know you saw the sambal petai too….So, it is sort of fusion food already. Last month was petai season in Malaysia…how could I miss this delicious delicacy right

Beautiful Papaya Harvest 1-5-15

My luck with papaya finally comes. I had grown a few papaya trees before but all of them die before I can taste the fruit. 

This time the papaya tree really loves me. Four papaya fruits get ripen on the same time! Wow! That’s good. I brought them back to hometown during the long Labour Day break. 

I gave two to my younger sister and another two for in law. All of them are papaya lover. 

Papaya taste sweeter if they have ripened on the tree. But beware, ripe papaya is quite eye catching… & it may end up in someone else’s stomach =p 

I feel so blessed to be able to taste my own grow papaya this time, finally.  Both the peel and the flesh of papaya are beautiful in orange-red color, and of course it is very sweet too!!

 

 

 

I wanted to bring home this huge pineapple too. But too bad, it is not ready for me to pick yet. It needs one or two weeks more to be ready. Again, pineapple taste sweeter if it has ripened on the tree

 

Papaya Tree 'Mati Pucuk???'

Please do not laugh >_<. I think my papaya tree have symptom of 'mati pucuk' suddenly after bear me 4 super sweet papayas. 

I checked through the tree, there was no sign of pet invasion & the root also look very healthy. 

Ya, after 3 days, i had to say 'bye bye' to the tree, it was gone forever.
